Effective date: August 9, 2026 · Replaces the policy dated August 18, 2025
CleanScan ("the App") is developed by Faisal Alshamsi, based in the United Arab Emirates ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. It applies to the CleanScan iOS app and this website.
Everything you scan, import, edit, or sign is stored locally on your device. If iCloud is available, documents also sync through your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so they appear on your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple account; we operate no server that stores your documents and we cannot access, read, or recover them.
Text extraction (OCR), signature drawing, page editing, merging, splitting, watermarking, and password protection all run entirely on your device using Apple frameworks.
Some conversions (such as PDF to Word, Excel, or PowerPoint) are too heavy for a phone and run through our conversion service. When you use one of these tools:
The App asks for camera access to scan documents and QR codes, and photo library access when you import images. Captured images are processed on your device. The App never accesses your camera or photos in the background.
Payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID; we never see your payment details. To manage subscriptions we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase events (product, price, currency, subscription status). This is what lets your Pro access restore across reinstalls. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or documents. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
If you install CleanScan through a creator's link or enter a referral or free-access code, we use InfluTo to attribute that referral and unlock the associated offer. For this purpose the following may be processed: basic device information (model, OS version, language, timezone), your IP address at the time of the visit, the referral code, and anonymized purchase events used to credit the creator. This never includes your documents, contacts, or identity. If you never use a referral link or code, no attribution profile is created.
Because your documents are stored on your device and in your iCloud, deleting them in the App (or deleting the App and its iCloud data in iOS Settings) removes them. Anonymous purchase records persist only as long as needed to honor your subscription. To exercise any data request, contact us at the address below.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because no account or personal profile exists, the App is suitable for general audiences; we still recommend parental supervision for young users.
We may update this policy as the App evolves. The effective date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be visible on this page before they take effect. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
